YES! I THINK! I CAN!
Last night before leaving India for the world cup cricket to England M.S. Dhoni said, “Yes, I think I can. We cannot effort to relax and need to play at our potential. We are quite confident. We will be able to handle pressure as we were thrown in to different situations, which have added experiences in all of us to face the situation and transferring winning results. You cannot sustain at same level for long time. We will not treat any match as easy match. There is no point in thinking all this. Team is becoming very innovative and aggressive.”
Leadership is aggressiveness, Innovation, confident, performing up to best, using potentiality, Meeting challenges, Hopes and CAN-DO attitude.
EMERSON LIVED FOR 360 YEARS
One morning, an unknown person asked a question to Emerson.
“What is your age?”
“360 years,” Emerson replied.
“I am asking your real age?” unknown person asked him another time.
“I have used my time six times. Actually speaking, I have lived for 60 years but I have used six times the actual time. That’s why I can say, I have lived for 360 years.”
Unknown person was really shocked and he replied, “We try to earn six times in 60 years. In fact, we do not earn. And even, even if we earn, we spoil all for some good reasons.”
PEOPLE PLAY INVISIBLE BEHAVIOURAL GAMES
In business houses, employees play politics. By politicking an employee breaks down the team spirit. Team is divided into small groups. Small groups become very active and they hold meetings after official meeting. They discuss among themselves, what to do on the decisions which are taken in the meeting.
Meeting after meeting is an attitude now days.
In one of my client’s company the General Manager (HR) has put up his Man-Power plan. Quorum has approved the Man-Power plan. It was resolved unanimously. The next day, vice president called junior executive of General Manager HR and directed him not to go ahead in the matter of Man-Power planning. Instructions were passed orally. Decision was taken in meeting and minutes after that, this has been happened. Naturally, junior executive cannot take actions as the top management has ordered him. He followed YES MAN leadership.
Now think about the performance of General Manager HR. What will happen to his career and performance?
Groups have small thinking limited to their interest. They never think as a team.
Junior executive became the favourite man of the top management as he followed what his boss has directed. Organizations have YES MAN. This YES MAN category is very humble, smiling, will never disobey your order. At the back or in absence of boss, they criticize boss very badly. Absolutely unfair language and worst opinion.
Lots of such small groups you can find in one organisation.
Energy is wasted in wrong direction. Team breaks down. Comparatively frank and transferee people suffers. Finally, talent quits the company.
Employees who have spiritual standards, values, open to the point, absolutely transparent, result oriented and workaholic suffers. Their disappointment level at work place is very high. Everyday, they have war with themselves. Inner noise and outer surroundings are found contradictory. They close the day with ill feelings.
These all affects on the performance and results. Inner state of mind is not healthy and positive.
These confiscatory situations are found in almost every company. Sometimes top management is aware of this but they ignore it intently. Their profit centre should not be disturbed. They think; who is the most important person for the profit centre? They favour him and after that they throw him out from the team. Top management focuses only on profit.
Team, values and culture of the company have lesser importance in their eyes even after knowing it.
BE A THANKYOU FANATIC
Develop a habit to write thank you note to the pivotal person in your life.
Express your gratitude and feelings. You can select any Mode of communication, I mean SMS, Email or greetings. But, do it without fail. This can be your attitude or life style.
Sr. G. Bush was a thank you lover. Everyday he called his E.A. to send thank you notes for the people who came across during a day and send thank you note.
RIGHT THINGS BUILD YOU FOR LIFE TIME
Martin Luther King Jr. asserted as follows:
“Cowardice asks the question: Is it safe?
Conscience asks question: I sit popular?
Character asks: Is it right?”
Are you following what’s right?????
It is possible that you may be doing the right things but not growing in current affairs. But, in my eyes, you are shaping your character and building bright future. Character is not visible but it is always experienced and felt.
Character is not what you have but it is what you are. This has a strong value.
People like character but when it goes to deed and actions they differ. They compromise with the logic that this all is ideology not practical. One has to be practical not ideological.
I completely disagree with this statement and recommend you profoundly to follow the right things. Trust me when you start doing wrong things, someone inside you stops you. Inner noise always stopped you number of times. But, every time you over ruled it.
