PostHeaderIcon Leaders: Not the Past Conscious But Focus On the Future

What we commit to ourselves today determines our future. Determination leads us to successful tomorrow.

What is my commitment to myself?

What is my personal goal for the year 2010?

What I will create at the end of the current year?

I like very effective words of Dr. Sudershanam, “Every year, I have a fight with my all best previous years.”

‘What am I going to be’ is determined first by the leader. He is always in direction with speed, building his identity and making impression on the path of leadership.

Focus on future is a way of leadership. We cannot build up future by remembering past. We can create very powerful future by concentrating and determining on today.

Leaders live in present and plan for tomorrow.

Living with past glory and achievements is not a leader’s attitude. No matter of what kind of achievements you have made up. However, it is a past. Life is tomorrow not yesterday.

What we commit to ourselves will change us totally and a new person will come out from us. A new person can come out only by new commitments and determination, not by achievements. Even, living and sharing those achievements for an hour’s with some people is not recommended. Even, by that action, we spoil our present and we missed an opportunity to create another milestone.

Put your first things first, everything more likely to fall into place.

Our present thoughts, attitude and decision makes our tomorrow. Our tomorrow is a creation of our today. Leaders live in present and focus on tomorrow to accomplish decided goals.

PostHeaderIcon ARE WE ON OUR MISSION?

Can you recall DR. A.P.J KALAM’s first mission of “Pruthiv” missile to make India independent in the area of self defense? Can you recall seeing the first Apollo moon-landing?

Both are magnificent accomplishments and the achievement is unparallel.

We all need mission in the life. Then only we can find ourselves engaged in totality. When our 100 percent starts coming out, we feel that we are unleashing our potentiality. We first need focus, and then the dream, the vision, the strategy, and the action plan are unfolded.

You cannot predict what will be the fruit of your mission. Achievement of mission is also unexpected in any hour of the day.

In case of our “Pruthiv” missile we came to know about our strength and our competency. In case of moon, we came to know how it looks from the moon. We knew before that how the earth looks from the moon.

Flying space shuttle Rakesh Sharma, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked him, “How India does look from the space and the answer was “Saara jaha se aacha Hindustan hamara….”

We all are learners; we learned that envisioning the big picture of the life, which help us in developing the plan, the team, the strategy and the goals and much more….

Anthony Robbins define mission properly “A sense of purpose that lures you in to your future. It enlightens your principles, your energy, your values and your goals.”

When you start living with your mission you start living with joy, satisfaction, pleasure and fun. Trust me you will forget your most of the daily routines also. Your eyes will be on the mission only.

Michelangelo said, “They do it day after day, and they thoroughly enjoy it, you can too.”

PostHeaderIcon INDIAN LEADERSHIP SHOULD FOCUS ON…..

Leadership is demanding attention of leaders on the following three things in the slowdown time. Of course, challenges are different for India as, we are at the different stage in the global contest.

A) Do not lose focus on the long term goal. Ups and downs in your life should not deviate you from your purpose.

B) Take care of people. You cannot create skill or talent overnight. Talent is not like switch, so that you can put on and off anytime.

C) Calculative risk and small victory celebration attitude will help the team boost their moral.

We will slowly enter in post slowdown period. Hopefully, leadership of the organization will not change their focus from the main and long term goal.

LEADERSHIP IS NOT SHIFTING FOCUS FROM THE LONGTERM GOAL

PostHeaderIcon CONSTANT MOVING……WHY????

In Buddhism, you will find a “Time Wheel.” Every disciple keeps “Time Wheel” in their hands. It gives the message of constant moving. Time is continuously moving, same way intelligent man also never stops and accomplishes mission.

Every accomplishment is considered as stepping stone for the new achievements. You have to be prepared for another accomplishment. After reaching to a goal, you ask yourself.

“What is the next goal?”

Leader with constant movement and in search of new dimensions and directions are recommended.

LEADERSHIP IS CONTINIOUS MOVING WITH HOPE IN DIRECTION.

PostHeaderIcon START WORKING RIGHT NOW

Do what you can,

With what you have,

From where you are.

Don’t look at the circumstances, don’t blame the people around you, don’t wait for the luck factor and don’t wait for an opportunity to strike.

Focus on what you can with what you have…..

Let failures take place or mistakes take place. Doesn’t matter, creating perfection at the first attempt is stupidity.

Get up, go ahead. Don’t stop until your best comes out, by today only.
