Jake Gyllenhaal had an intense workout regimen that included 2000 sit-ups EVERYDAY TO PREPARE FOR HIS ROLE IN SOUTHPAW.
Gyllenhaal began exercising for 6 hours a day, for six months before filming for the movie began. Workout also included 3 hours of boxing in the morning and remaining 3 hours for cardiac exercises for strengthening. His trainer had appreciated commitment and dedication.

5/ Discipline and dedication.
