The Goal to Accomplishment lies in Discipline

I’ve written what and when I want to. It’s been about expressing myself. But with the degree, I had to learn to do everything in a very specific, disciplined way. I am very disciplined, but this demanded a totally different kind of discipline. A real challenge — Joan Armatrading

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

What do you want to choose in life: pain of discipline or failure to accomplish? I believe you will select discipline as discipline means adhering to certain rules or norms of social life. Every law abiding citizen owes it as his duty to God, to society, or to some other institution. Alternative to discipline is chaos in social life and disreputation.
Some people labour under erroneous belief that discipline means a restraint on their liberties and feel it is a form of some restrictions imposed to make them suffer. They fail to realize that unfettered freedom degenerates into licentious behavior and decay where one’s own progress becomes the casualty. Without discipline there can never be progress and advancement of any country.
If you want to mount the podium of victory, discipline is the only way to go about with respect and honour. It is the key to unlock your talent transforming your potentiality into success that would reflect onto the screen of the world.
Talent with discipline can create wonders and turn you into the most preferable person. I believe, first call, could be your name.
Can you expect great things in life without discipline?
John Irving an outstanding sportsman says how discipline matured him. “I think the sport of wrestling, which I became involved with at 14… I competed until 34, kind of old for a contact sport. I coached the sport until I was 47. I think the discipline of wrestling has given me the discipline I have to write (home about).”

Submit to discipline and see the wonders of life.
Nothing can be more beneficial than discipline; I cannot imagine an army without discipline. Without discipline army would be reduced to a disorderly bunch of mob at war with itself. Likewise democracy would degenerate into monocracy.
You need three things to win: discipline, hard work and, before everything maybe, commitment. No one will make it without those three. Sport teaches you that.

Bernard Baruch asserted “The greatest blessing of our democracy is freedom. But in the last analysis, our only freedom is the freedom to discipline ourselves.” It is connected to people, society, institution or nation. You could enjoy fruits of freedom only, if you are totally disciplined.

Not good enough if you have technical skills without discipline as great victories will still be out of your reach. For discipline to take roots one needs to be inculcated at the childhood stage that obviously depends on successful parenting. Effective discipline brings in the child self-control, accountability, and mutual respect.
In the famous poem, The Rainbow, William Wordsworth used the expression, “The child is father of the man” meaning all our positive and negative traits are established when we are young. Children demonstrate certain characteristics which remain with them forever.
However it is the discipline that brings in a child an unspoiled, natural spontaneity of unselfish love which makes the transition to full adulthood possible. Of course in today’s material world this love can be overshadowed to some extent by other negative traits like greed etc. Yet the true adult in us comes out only from how we are during our childhood which Wordsworth has rightly conveyed when he said that the child is the father of the man.
Let us give if nothing else to our children at least proper discipline to make them function in a family and society within the boundaries of the rule of law which we all must abide.
Confidence in life can come about only through discipline …. Discipline is the tree while character is only the shadow.
If you do not discipline yourself while others do they win…and you lose.. Life is a struggle to win and in how successful is one in disciplining the mind. I have seen great talent falling by the wayside because of indiscipline.
You could be a member of the panel of LEAD WITH EXAMPLE by inculcating discipline.
