Leadership without character is powerless; authority without influence is tyrannical.
Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspected and must be opposed.

We have learned that power is a positive force if it is used for positive purposes. I do agree with the thought but looking at the experiences across the globe, power is not used positively in some of the cases. People who have power do not deserve it. YES!

Power creates fear around your people and you command respect through fear. I feel, this is the failure of leadership. I love power. But, it is as an art that I love it. The way musician loves his violin, to draw out its sounds. Power is not an end. See it as it is a beginning to prove your character and an opportunity to influence thousands of lives. Power is a chance given to you to prove your leadership in the organization or nation or society.
Absolute power - absolute politics and absolute politics is zero character.

That’s why mother become an authority at home without power. You can influence the life of people around you and create authorities impact. Successful leadership is authority, not power centric leadership.
“The wisest have the most authority” Quoted by Plato before a century. Morality, this character increases your authority. Loyalty around your people and helping them in developing their life standards and quality gradually add authority in your position.
